MP3 Help

If you have an audio player that is capable of playing MP3's and you still cannot hear them then check the following:

  1. From your desktop double click on MY COMPUTER. Click on VIEW from the top toolbar.
  2. Find FOLDER OPTIONS at the bottom of the list and then select FILE TYPES.
  3. Click on NEW TYPE, then in the ADD NEW FILE TYPE fill in the following:
    Description of Type: M3U File
Associated Extension: .m3u Content Type (MIME): audio/x-mpegurl
  4. Under ACTIONS, click the NEW button.
(If your computer recognizes this as a "Playlist" setting then click CANCEL in the New File Type box. Then scroll through the file types and delete the M3U entry that you just created and try repeating all steps above again.)
  5. In the NEW ACTION box, fill in the following:
    Action: open
Application to perform action: Use the browse button and find the location of your audio player (Real, Winamp, Liquid Audio etc.) Then click okay and the path to that player will appear in the box. Now scroll over to the right using the right arrow key until the very end of the path. Spacebar once over to the right and type in %1. This must be there! You should be able to hear the files now. You should restart your computer when you're ready to make sure that the new file type is recognized by your computer.
